DO have knowledgeable staff.
Attendees have questions that require knowledge of your business. As pictured, Stevens Kitchens is able to answer the questions that can start their business relationship.
DO be personable.
Having the right people in your space can make or break your success at an event. It’s easy to walk past a booth if the representative is on their phone, eating, or distracted. Make sure to have at least 2 representatives so they are able to coordinate attending the booth.
DO play games.
I have seen so many fun ideas in the past that relate to businesses. As seen pictured below, Air Flow Designs Heating and Air Conditioning brought a spin wheel for people to win prizes. The YMCA in Oviedo incorporated basketball hoops in their area for the kids to enjoy.
Spin wheels, corn hole challenges, play basketball hoops. All are fun for adults and kids to play.
DO try to team up with other vendors/community members.
There is something about teamwork….find a complimentary business and work with them. This can lead to referrals and a great partnership in the future. Partnerships that I have seen are gyms and massage therapists/wellness businesses, realtors and mortgage brokers, chiropractors and acupuncturists. There are a lot of combinations out there.
DO brand yourself.
A successful brand self-promotes and provides a memorable experience for the people. Here is an example of School of Rock Oviedo allowing kids to jam out on musical instruments.
