“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game”
Hailing from Chicago Illinois, Jordan fell in love with Florida when she came on a family vacation to Disney World. But it wasn’t working for the mouse, that sparked her interest in event planning– it actually came from a rather unlikely place–little league soft ball.
“When I was a kid, the entire team had to do all the tournament stuff ourselves.” Jordan then further explained, “All the important things that go into putting an event together like figuring out who was going to cater the food, we had to do all the work ourselves.” It was in the middle of the madness Jordan was voted into being the leader of organizing team, “That was a huge step for me. I took that role really seriously, I felt like I wanted to make a difference and help put together an event that the entire team and their parents would enjoy.”
Jordan then mused, “Being a part of a softball team taught me a lot and really shaped who I am.” Jordan also made it point to say that her own personal slogan comes from her softball days. Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game. “That saying has helped me though a lot of rough times and really puts things into perspective as I get older. You just gotta keep going even if you feel like you haven’t done your personal best.”
You can see Jordan along side fellow interns Taylor and Mel as well as assisting our supervisor Bridget Lake. When she isn’t interning, on her off days Jordan is a dog mom to Bella, her pit bull mix.
Jordan is also currently going to the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College for Hospitality for event management.
